Bethany Norton
"Loving ourselves through the process of owning our story is the bravest thing we will ever do" Brené Brown
Bethany is a compassionate psychologist who enjoys helping individuals gain a deeper self-understanding and lead fulfilling lives. She creates a welcoming and collaborative space that encourages self-discovery and growth, often bringing creativity and humour into her sessions..
With a particular passion for supporting neurodivergent individuals, members of the LGBTQIA+ community, and those facing unique life challenges, Bethany tailors evidence-based methods to fit her client’s unique needs. She draws from a variety of techniques, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Schema Therapy, mindfulness, and self-compassion. Her expertise spans a wide range of concerns, such as complex trauma, eating disorders (including ARFID), chronic health issues, stress, burnout, and life transitions.
A strong advocate for inclusivity, Bethany celebrates the diverse journeys of her clients and offers a warm, non-judgmental approach that combines creative problem-solving with a touch of humour. Before joining Treat Yourself Well, she worked with adolescents in out-of-home care and supported families facing health challenges - experiences that have deepened her empathy and understanding of individual needs.
Additionally, she has a special interest and work in pain management at NSW Health, extending her experience and knowledge to diverse care settings.
