Treat Yourself Well Katrina English ANZAED Credential
Katrina English is an AHPRA registered psychologist working with young people (14+) and adults who experience mood and/or emotion dysregulation; struggle with addictive or compulsive behaviours, including substance use, suicidal thoughts and self-harm; and eating disorders.

Katrina is a registered psychologist working with young people (14+) and adults who experience mood and/or emotion dysregulation; struggle with addictive or compulsive behaviours, including substance use, suicidal thoughts and self-harm; or body image and disordered eating. Katrina has a particular interest in understanding these difficulties in the context of early attachment and trauma, and seeks to support individuals in understanding how early patterns of relating can influence present relationships and styles of coping. Katrina has experience working with individuals, groups and families across education, health and community settings, from a range of ages, backgrounds and experiences. She aims to create a warm and validating space in which individuals can safely explore their challenges and work towards a greater sense of self-agency and self-compassion.

Katrina's therapeutic approach integrates supportive counselling with evidence-based therapeutic modalities, including: trauma-informed psychodynamic psychotherapy (The Conversational Model), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR). Katrina believes strongly that healing happens in safe relationship, and therefore prioritises a relational and person-centred approach over a 'one size fits all' model of recovery.
