My name is Sevcan Eminov, and I’m a registered psychologist working at Treat Yourself Well Sydney.
I have been fully registered as a psychologist for numerous years now. Previously I have worked in the inner west and also South-Western Sydney, accumulating a wealth of experience treating clients from diverse socio-economic, religious and cultural backgrounds, with a focus on adult mental health.
I have an ever-growing passion for supporting and fostering the empowered flourishing of neurodivergent individuals and this is a central area of my professional development and ongoing learning, alongside Eating Disorders and the nexus of eating and body image related concerns, neurodivergence and trauma. I am also Eating Disorder Credentialed and I see clients on an Eating Disorder Treatment Plan.
Areas of interest:
Depression
Anxiety, overwhelm and burnout
Emotional awareness and management
Stress/adjustment to major life transitions
Motivation, organisation, focus and productivity
Relationships, communication,
Conflict resolution & boundary setting
Low-self esteem and imposter syndrome
Body Image
Eating Disorders & Eating related issues
Goal attainment and purpose
Perfectionism and challenges with over-control
Another key passion project of mine is supporting my clients in navigating issues within their relationships, including platonic, romantic, familial and everything in between. I have a keen interest in communication, including neurodivergent-neurotypical communication dynamics, navigating people pleasing, being a perpetual social chameleon, as well as working with demand avoidance, and the use of declarative language, and supporting clients in being understood, respected and heard.
I utilise a variety of evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Schema Therapy, as well as Radically Open Dialectical Behavioural Therapy, entwining elements of Gottman Couple therapy, the work of Linda Murphy, Esther Perel, and myriad other theories and modalities relating to interpersonal effectivenss and connection.
I also employ mindfulness and compassion-based tools and techniques, and other practical every day strategies to enhance coping and self-efficacy. I employ such modalities in a flexible and client-centred manner, with a neurodiversity-affirming and trauma aware lens. I also take a holistic and lifestyle-based approach, incorporating components of physical health, nutrition, and optimisation of functioning as well as daily drive and vitality.
I look forward to working with you and please do not hesitate to reach out to discuss how I may able to provide psychological support and treatment to your clients.
Thank you for your time, and I look forward to connecting with you soon.
Best regards,
